Everton will face competition in the race to sign Watford ace Abdoulaye Doucoure this summer, as talkSPORT understands Fulham and Wolves are also interested in the midfielder.
The 27-year-old Frenchman has been strongly linked with a move away from Vicarage Road following the Hornets’ relegation to the Championship.
Doucoure is one of the highest-paid players at the club, earning around £70,000-a-week, and Watford are open to selling him with no shortage of suitors circling.
Everton have been chasing the midfielder – linked with a surprise move to Chelsea in January– for a while now, and recently had a bid of £15million rejected.
Reports in the French media claim he has already agreed personal terms over a move to Goodison Park.
However, according to talkSPORT sources, Premier League rivals Wolves and Fulham have now also joined the race to land the talented former Rennes man.
There is currently no favourite for his signature, but interested clubs have been told to aim a little higher to stand a chance of signing him, with Watford valuing Doucoure at between £20m and £25m.
The Hornets signed Doucoure from Rennes in 2016 for an undisclosed fee, for a then-club record £8m, and he has gone on to make 141 appearances for the Hertfordshire outfit, scoring 17 goals and providing 12 assists.
Watford captain Troy Deeney told talkSPORT this week he has no plans to leave the club following their relegation, but it appears the same can’t be said for Doucoure.
It was reported in L’Equipe last month that the Frenchman is keen on a move after Watford dropped out of the Premier League, and asked his agent to get him a move back to the top flight.
And Everton have not been put off, with Carlo Ancelotti said to be very keen on the player and the club reportedly ready to table a second bid.
